Changing phones is when people discover that two years of game progress was stored nowhere but on the old device. Doing this properly takes about ten minutes of preparation, and it has to happen while you still have the old phone working.
Moving 6 Club to a new phone
Your 6 Club account is stored on our platform, not on your phone. On your new device, just log in to 6 Club with the same mobile number and password. Your wallet and history will be there.
Understand where your progress actually lives
Mobile games store progress in one of three ways, and the difference decides everything.
**Server-side, tied to an account.** The game holds your progress on its own servers, keyed to a Google, Apple, Facebook or developer account. Sign in on any device and it is there. This is the safe arrangement.
**Cloud-synced local save.** The save file lives on the device and is backed up through Google Play Games or iCloud. Usually reliable, occasionally not, and the sync may be less recent than your last session.
**Local only, with a guest account.** The save exists on the phone and nowhere else. Uninstalling, clearing data, factory resetting, or losing the phone destroys it. A great many casual games work this way by default.
You cannot tell which applies from the store listing. Open the game’s own settings and look for an account, link, or cloud save section.
Do this on the old phone, before anything else
- **Open every game you care about.** Not the ones you might come back to. The ones you would be upset to lose.
- **Link each one to a real account.** If the game offers Google Play Games, Game Center, Facebook or an email registration, use it now. This is the single most important step and it is the one people skip.
- **Trigger a manual cloud save** if the game has that option, and let it finish while on Wi-Fi.
- **Screenshot the account screen and your player or user ID.** If recovery ever needs support involvement, this ID is what they will ask for and it is much harder to find afterwards.
- **Note which account you used.** With three Google accounts on a phone, “I linked it to Google” is not enough information six months later.
- **Check for a transfer code.** Some games, particularly Japanese titles, issue a one-time migration code instead of using platform accounts. It typically expires, so generate it close to the move.
Then set up the new phone
- Sign into the same Google or Apple account before installing any games. Installing first and signing in afterwards is how games end up attached to the wrong account.
- On Android, open the Play Games app and confirm the correct profile is active.
- On iPhone, check Settings, Game Center, and confirm the correct Apple Account.
- Install games one at a time and verify progress before moving on, rather than installing thirty and discovering a problem later.
- Keep the old phone until every game is confirmed. Do not factory reset it on the same day.
Android to Android
Google’s own transfer tool during setup moves apps and some data, but it is not reliable for game saves specifically. Treat platform account linking as the real mechanism and the transfer tool as a convenience.
Play Games cloud saves usually restore automatically once the game is installed under the same account. If a game opens at zero progress, do not play it: playing can overwrite the cloud save with the new empty one. Close it, confirm the account, and reopen.
iPhone to iPhone
iCloud backup and the direct device-to-device transfer generally handle game data well, because app data is included in the backup. Make sure iCloud Backup has actually run recently, in Settings, your name, iCloud, iCloud Backup, and check the last backup time rather than assuming.
Android to iPhone, or iPhone to Android
This is the hard case, and it is worth being clear about it: local save files do not move across platforms.
What survives a platform change is progress held server-side under an account that exists on both platforms. A game linked to Facebook or a developer email account will usually restore. A game relying on Google Play Games will often not restore on iOS, and a Game Center save will not restore on Android.
Games bought on one platform do not carry to the other either. A paid game must be bought again.
If a game matters to you and you are switching platforms, check its support pages for cross-platform transfer before you move, and accept that some progress will not come with you.
If progress is already gone
- Do not play the game further. Continued play can overwrite whatever backup exists.
- Check whether you are signed into the right account, and check every account you own. This resolves most cases.
- Look for a restore or load from cloud option in the game’s settings.
- Contact the developer’s support with your player ID, the approximate account level, the date you last played, and proof of any purchases. Purchases are the strongest evidence of ownership and often the difference between a recovery and a refusal.
- Be realistic. An unlinked local save on a phone that has been reset is usually unrecoverable, and support cannot restore what was never on their servers.
Habits that prevent all of this
- Link progress to an account on day one, before you have anything to lose
- Prefer games that support account-based saves when you have a choice
- Keep a note, in whatever app you already use for notes, listing each game and which account holds it
- Let cloud saves finish rather than force-closing a game immediately after playing
- Before any factory reset, open each game once and confirm it syncs
Storage housekeeping while you are at it
A phone change is a good moment to be honest about what you play. Games you have not opened in a month can stay uninstalled, and keeping 15 to 20 percent of internal storage free keeps both the system and your games running better, as explained in how to fix lag on a budget Android phone.
The short version
Link every game to a real account while the old phone still works, screenshot your player IDs, sign into the correct platform account on the new phone before installing anything, verify each game before resetting the old device, and expect local-only saves not to survive a platform change.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move game progress to a new phone?
Link each game to a real account — Google, Apple, Facebook or the developer’s own — while the old phone still works, then sign into the same account on the new phone before installing anything. Progress held only on the device does not move by itself.
Can I transfer game data from Android to iPhone?
Only if the progress is stored server-side under an account that exists on both platforms. Local save files do not cross platforms, Google Play Games saves usually will not restore on iOS, and paid games must be bought again.
What is a guest account in a game?
An account tied to that installation rather than to you. Progress exists on the phone and nowhere else, so clearing data, uninstalling, or losing the phone destroys it permanently. Many casual games work this way by default.
Can support recover lost game progress?
Sometimes, if the progress was on their servers. Send your player ID, your approximate level, the date you last played and proof of any purchases. An unlinked local save on a phone that has been reset is usually unrecoverable, because it was never on their servers.
